The Big Bear
Story
Big Bear started out to make books for the young ESL learners. We tested the material in the classroom and adjusted the exercises to match the abilities of each age group. Then, we created the audio, and gave our fun animal characters each an individual voice. With positive reactions from the students, we were inspired to create videos that brought our characters to life. We added songs and games, which only increased their excitement to learn more and enjoy English. Finally, we started using Smartboard interactive displays in each classroom. This allowed us to create our Interactive lessons. The possibilities are endless!
Big Bear
In Action
This program was created by teachers working and sharing ideas. We created and tested the material in the classroom. Kids stay attentive, entertained, and engaged during each lesson. Students and teachers love Big bear Books!
The Big Bear Team
A team of teachers, who have lived and worked in Taiwan for many years. We have had the pleasure to teach Taiwanese students as well as many international students throughout the years. We are not just teachers but a close group of friends who love to teach!
We found it hard to find age-appropriate material for young ESL learners. Most material is created for native English speakers. So, we decided to create our own complete, connected, interactive, fun, interesting and engaging program. We now use Big Bear Books everyday in our classrooms.
Our Mission
To create a complete kindergarten program where everything is interconnected and engaging. To help all children to enjoy learning in any given environment and retain knowledge naturally, raising the English proficiency of our students. Also, to keep creating new material and tools to make great teachers.
